This digital community newspaper qualified for matching funds through a program called NewsMatch. Receiving the matching funds required certain benchmarks for the number of donors, for first-time donors, and for a target amount. The coordinated campaign — in the newspaper, on the website, through email, and on social media — drove more than 100 first-time donors, the largest one-day total in fundraising, and reached the target match amount.
